Cantus is named Classical MPR Artists in Residence
Cantus is proud to
partner with Classical Minnesota Public Radio as their Artists-In-Residence
for the 2010-2011 concert season. The second-ever Artists-In-Residence
for Classical MPR, Cantus will perform in Greater Minnesota concerts
and on Performance Today broadcasts. They will also give a series of
master classes at high schools around the state and augment the residency
online at classicalmpr.org. “Cantus is an
outstanding vocal ensemble, known for their musical excellence, and we’re
honored to have them as our Artists-In-Residence,” said Brian Newhouse,
managing director, Classical MPR. “The joy and passion they bring
to their music makes them a perfect fit for the residency’s mission
and spirit.”
Watch this space for more information on our activities
with Classical MPR.
The Classical MPR Artists in Residence program is sponsored, in part, by
funds from the Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Cantus invites you to attend our rehearsal!
In the world of performing arts, Cantus is a very unique group of artists.
We have no music director or conductor, and every singer has an equal
voice in the collaborative process of rehearsing and performing. In
fact, as a true chamber ensemble, we rehearse and perform like a string
quartet.
Curious to know more? Come and sit in on one of our rehearsals! Twice
a month we'll be offering one hour when you can stop by and watch us
rehearse at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. (There is
no charge!) All we ask is that you contact us in advance so that we can
plan for you. We'd love to see you!
