Cantus is seeking application materials
from Basses, Baritones and Tenors for full-time employment
during the 2008-09 season. Cantus singer contracts
have an annual review and renewal process.
The group offers full-time, salaried positions with comprehensive
benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life/long-term
disability insurance, voice lesson reimbursement, and 403(b)
retirement plan with employer match. (total value of compensation
around $30k)
Cantus currently includes tenors, baritones, and basses
on its roster (sorry, no countertenors). Recent engagements
include the Boston Pops, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra,
Library of Congress, Minnesota Orchestra, San Francisco
Performances, and international radio broadcasts.
Your audition packet should include:
-Résumé/Headshot
-Audition CD (or Cassette) comprised of:
-Spoken introduction: Your name, hometown, and the repertoire
featured on your recording.
-One aria or art song in English
-One or two arias/art songs in a foreign language
-Two different vocalises which you feel show your voice
at its best, and display the range of your voice (not including
falsetto).

materials
P.O. Box 16321, Minneapolis, MN 55416
Applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2008. Finalists
will be contacted by February 22, 2008 for a live audition during
the weekend of March 8.
Please be complete in your audition packet. We need to hear all
of the above to determine whether we should move on to a live audition.
Please also limit any processing of the sound, (i.e. excess reverb
or EQ) since this makes it difficult to evaluate a singer's performance,
voice, personality, etc. Make certain that the audio quality is
high and that the CD has been finalized to play in all CD players.
